OCR
Make it easier to understand and improve the text extracted from project drawings, especially scans, rotated pages, dense schedules, and low-resolution sheets.
Requested improvements:
- Show a clear text-quality state for each sheet and help editors find sheets that need attention.
- Allow permission-controlled OCR re-runs for a sheet or version, with progress and an outcome. Offer a higher-accuracy option for difficult sheets only when the workspace opts in to any external processing.
- Let editors correct detected sheet numbers, titles, disciplines, and drawing types. Preserve the original values and an audit trail, and retain corrections on re-run.
- Use the improved text for search and cross-sheet link suggestions. Validate suggested targets against the project’s sheets and explain why each link was suggested.
- Support common drawing-reference phrasing across languages.
Examples: find “Room 204” in a scanned addendum; correct “A-I02” to “A-102”; review a suggested link from “voir feuille A-201”.
Success would mean understandable quality and failure states, corrections that survive reprocessing, background processing that keeps the viewer usable, and accessible controls. This proposal builds on OCR-related work already present in Planflow; it does not promise a delivery date or a particular provider.
